How do I add participants to my course? For registrar courses, students enroll automatically. Add TAs and facilitators using "Manage Users" in Instructor Tools or the "My Canvas Course Management" tool in myUFL. Add TAs to the INIT section unless restricting to specific sections.

What participant roles are available in Canvas? Teacher, Student, Teaching Assistant (TA), Non-grading Assistant, TA Grading Only, Facilitator, Designer, Auditor, Student Mentor, Observer, Program Observer, and Guest Lecturer. Download the e-Learning Permissions chart for complete details.

How do I remove participants from my course? Use "Manage Users" in Instructor Tools or the "My Canvas Course Management" tool in myUFL. Removed registrar-enrolled students auto-reappear when the roster reconciles with the registrar.

What are the differences in the three TA roles? TA: same instructor permissions except managing outcomes. TA Grading Only: gradebook and SpeedGrader access only; cannot post announcements or edit content. Non-Grading Assistant: like TA but no gradebook access or publishing rights.

How do I limit my TAs to grade only specific students? Create non-registrar sections (e.g., "TA Bob"), add the TA and their assigned students to that section, then restrict the TA to that section.

How do I publish a course in e-Learning? Publish from your Canvas Dashboard's Unpublished Courses section, or from the course Home Page using the Course Status dropdown in the upper right corner.

Can I use Turnitin in UF e-Learning? Yes, via the external tool or the "Plagiarism Review" dropdown in assignments. Tutorials for setup and submission are available for both instructors and students.
